send_notification
Send a transactional customer-facing notification (email + SMS where configured). Use this to send a quote to a customer, send an invoice, or send an appointment reminder. The "type" determines both the message template and the target module: quote_to_customer→quotes, invoice_to_customer→invoices, appointment_reminder→events. "module_id" is the ID of that parent entity. Channel selection (email vs SMS) is automatic, it follows the workspace customer-notification settings and the contact's SMS opt-in. Email goes through AWS SES; SMS through Twilio. Set reminder=true for quote_to_customer or invoice_to_customer to send a "(Reminder)" prefixed message with reminder-friendly language instead of the initial send. Reminders do NOT change entity status. Without reminder (or reminder=false), invoice_to_customer transitions the invoice status to "sent" and quote_to_customer transitions to "awaiting_response". Does not currently support arbitrary internal messages to workspace users.
Parameters
| Field | Type / accepted values | Required | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
type | "quote_to_customer", "invoice_to_customer", "appointment_reminder" | Yes | Notification type. quote_to_customer sends a quote (module_id is a quote ID), invoice_to_customer sends an invoice (module_id is an invoice ID), appointment_reminder sends a reminder (module_id is an event ID). |
module_id | integer | Yes | ID of the parent entity (quote, invoice, or event, see "type"). |
reminder | boolean | No | Set to true to send a reminder instead of an initial notification. Adds "(Reminder)" prefix to the subject and uses friendlier reminder language. Does not change entity status. Only applies to quote_to_customer and invoice_to_customer. |
Result
